One of the charms of Jamestown and Conanicut Island is that it's also a bit of a challenge for a wedding: there are only three B&Bs on the island. The Newport Boat Show is also happening over the same weekend, which means hotels may be busier than usual... But don’t fear, we've reserved hotel rooms, and there are also many house rental options locally.

See below for our reserved hotels and recommendations — we strongly suggest you look into (and book) lodging early!

Reserved Hotels

We have booked limited blocks of rooms at a few hotels listed below. We will provide shuttle service to and from these hotels to our wedding site. Please note, reserving a room with the hotel block requires a two-night stay on September 13th and September 14th. 

Hotel Viking, Newport 
$459/night – a historic luxury hotel & spa in downtown Newport. Reservations can be made by calling (800) 556-7126 and noting that you're reserving under the 'Plum/Van Lancker Wedding Block'.

Holiday Inn Express, Middletown
$309/night – a nice, reasonably priced hotel in Middletown, about 10 minutes from downtown Newport. Reservations can be made following this link.

Houses

If you are planning to visit Rhode Island for a few days, we think staying in a house is the best way to enjoy your time. Conanicut Island is full of beautiful summer cottages and coastal homes. Nearby Newport also has a number of rental options within walking distance of the shuttle pickup. For the more adventerous (and those planning to drive to the wedding), Saunderstown, Narragansett, and other 'West Bay' towns are recommended. 

Homes are available on Airbnb and VRBO. Note that many require a minimum stay but still may be more affordable than hotels.

Newport is a vacation town and has many great hotels, resorts, and small inns. If you choose to stay in downtown many are likely within walking distance to the Hotel Viking and the shuttle pick-up. Below are a few we recommend:

$$$ - a colonial mansion turned bed & breakfast in the heart of downtown Newport.

Mill Street Inn, Newport

Marriott Long Wharf, Newport

The Bay Voyage, Jamestown
